Picnic with Pino

Spiritual Reflection during Lunch

November 13, 2020

Starting off November 3, Mrs. Pino and the Campus ministry team launched “Picnic with Pino.” Students sign up to meet and speak with Mrs. Pino during lunch.

They’re open to the entire student body, and multiple people can sign up at the same time.

“I was really able to connect with the other girls,” junior Emily Sanz said.

Slots began to fill just as soon as it was released, and the first day received a lot of positive feedback.

“It was a great break from a stressful week, and I loved being able to get away from my hectic day at Lourdes,” Sanz said.

Alongside an escape from daily routine, Mrs. Pino hopes to integrate conversation, prayer, and reflection.

“One of the things that I miss most about being in the classroom is being able to have those conversations about serious topics related to your faith,” Director of Campus Ministry Mrs. Pino said.

This is a great way to unite the student body and create that community that we are so used to being.

“The Campus Ministry office used to be jammed packed during lunches, focus, before and after school, and we want to be that community of faith by engaging in a way that’s intentional and safe,” Pino said.

Picnic with Pino is a way for students to get away while also engaging in spiritual reflection. It is truly a “time of peace in the midst of the commotion,” as Pino said.
