Key Club finds ways to give back

This Christmas season Key Club is giving back to the community with many different service projects.

The Key Club is one of the largest student-run service organizations in the country. This year, the members of Key Club have come up with new service opportunities with the Covid restrictions.

“Because of COVID, we’re limited in the kinds of service activities we can do, but our members have been creative in putting together collections and drives that benefit the community,” Key Club moderator Mrs. Del Toro said.

The Key Club is currently hosting different collections. Right now they have a mask collection for underprivileged children in Venezuela. They also have a collection of clothes for homeless shelters in Chicago and New York for an organization called “Warm Ears Warm Hearts”.

They are hosting a toy drive for underprivileged and victimized children and are giving the option to order a menorah or christmas tree kit for a child at Nicklaus Children’s hospital on Amazon.

‘It’s important for our Key Club members to participate in these activities not only to help those going through hard times right now in the community, but also to remember that there are always those who are going through even greater challenges than the ones we might be facing right now,’ Mrs. Del Toro said.
