The school’s lacrosse team recently held their tryouts on January 25-27. After three days of hard tryouts a group of 29 girls made the varsity team and an additional 12 girls made the practice team.

Last year, the lacrosse team had its first season, but sadly it was cut short due to the pandemic. The new team will prepare for their upcoming season which is set to begin in February. This season the girls will be able to play their first league games.

Since the team was created last year, with the help of Carolina Hassan and Gabriella Okunski, the fhsaa said there had to be a year wait until they could be added into the league. The first game was at Gulliver Prep on February 24 .

“Because the pandemic cut the season short we weren’t able to finish the season, but even with the games we played we were able to show that we are building a great team”said co-captain,junior Alissa Gonzalez-Muir.

This year’s season is 8 games long, spanning from February until late March.

“We are looking really good so far and I can not wait for this season,” said Coach Cassie.
