American Independence makes a Spectacle at the METGALA

Crystals, feathers, flowers and a Kardashian wrapped in black. Just the annual MET Gala—fashion’s biggest night of the year.

This event usually occurs at the start of May. However, it was postponed due to COVID. Due to these circumstances, the guest list was trimmed significantly and took place September 13th at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

The MET Gala gathers top celebrities, models, and designers for a magical night to exhibit their unique look/statement on the red carpet and fundraise for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. Every year, the theme differs. This year’s gala promoted American Independence. According to Vogue.com, the reason behind this theme was to recognize social and political movements that have recently occurred.

Many students look forward to this night to see the much-anticipated red carpet. The most outrageous night in the fashion world.
