The Crumbl Cookies franchise has surged in popularity, so much so that people travel for hours just for a taste.

The people of Miami would constantly drive to Pembroke Pines, until now. Miami-Dade County has just opened its very own Crumbl, located in Kendall. They celebrated their grand opening on October 15 and have been full of customers since.

Many wonder why this specific company became so relevant over the course of the past few months. What makes Crumbl different?

Well, their weekly flavor changes make this cookie company stand out against its competitors, like Night Owl and Insomnia Cookies, while providing a great alternative.

“I think their revolving menu also draws people to the store more often. The idea that they might not have the same cookie next week makes you want to try it before it’s gone. So people go every week,” junior Kathryn Ortiz said.

The buzz on Crumbl exploded because of social media. Juniors Kelsey Figueras and Cami Alvarez discovered the cookies on Tik-Tok.

On the social networking service, there is a trend to post videos revealing the new flavors and rating the Crumbl cookies of the week.

Tik-Tokers, such as sophomore Ines Saudino, have been advertising these loaded cookies. This past week, she uploaded a review on the new Halloween edition goods. Through this platform, Saudino, and many others, are bringing awareness to Crumbl, by assessing the cookie flavors of the week.

As shown in her Tik-Tok, the frosting designs on the cookies did not only follow the theme, including gummy worms and pumpkin flavors, but are presented in a clean and neat fashion, providing a fun way of portraying their topics.

“These cookies are different because they have all different types of flavors and decorations whereas other cookies are boring,” Figueras said.

This franchise has become so popular at the school that students frequent the Kendall, location and bring them to school. From birthday gifts to FOCUS Fiestas, these cookies have been all over the school.

“I love it when my friends bring these cookies to school, it honestly makes my day because they’re just so good,” Ortiz said.

Crumbl Cookies are now part of the school days and having a location close by has definitely enhanced this obsession.

Crumbl is located at 13520 SW 120th Street and is open from 7AM to 10AM during the week and from 7AM to Midnight on Friday and Saturday.
