Sometimes we really connect to TV characters and this inspires intense debate. The CW show The Vampire Diaries is the newswest show teens are streaming on Netflix and everyone has an opinion on which brother is best.

The debate between whether Stefan or Damon is better is a common argument between people my age.

Stefan has always been the better brother. Not only is Stefan significantly more attractive, he is also a better person. He is Loyal to Elena during their relationship and he is always there for his friends and family when needed.

To begin with, Stefan and Elena were and still are one of the most iconic relationships on TV, and for a good reason. Stefan is always helping Elena, sometimes even too much. He constantly saves her and her friends from dangerous situations like, when she and Matt accidentally drove off of Wickery Bridge and into the lake underneath.

According to senior Olivya Fundora, a senior and avid fan of Stefan Salvatore, “Stefan was way better to Elena than Damon was”.

Even though Stefan and Damon are brothers and over 100 years old, Elena is the brothers main point of argument in season 4 of the show, fighting over who loves Elena more while Stefan is completely oblivious of the fact that Elena has already chosen Damon while he was dead at the bottom of a lake. Even though Elena does not choose Stefan, Stefan never treats her any differently. Stefan still takes care of any issues she has and even sacrifices himself at the end of the series for her and her friends.

While Damon uses his vampiric side effects for bad, Stefan always tries to use them for good or not use them at all. Stefan uses his advantages like his blood to help cure his hurt friends or uses his memory wipe as a way to help others get out of bad situations.

Stefan eventually has to get over his love for Elena. He marries Caroline towards the end of the show and takes care of her kids like they are his own, Stefan will always be the better brother.
