Sophomores in the Spotlight

Deacon Louis’ B3 class is captured all together during a lesson of theology.

With the school season beginning again, one grade seems to not be getting the recognition they deserve….the Sophomores. The class of 2025 starts their next chapter at OLLA with new students, classes, and activities. With them not being the “New Kids on the Block” on campus, the sophomores get a different feel of how being a bobcat truly is.

“We are so excited that we are finally able to get the whole class together and show their spirit in unity, especially after these past few years. We are planning amazing things but, it is going to be a secret that you will find out eventually,” said Theology teacher and Sophomore Class Moderator, Diana Rodriguez.

When it comes to the sophomore spirit, this year’s theme is taking the hallways by a storm. OLLAFEST and spirit week are going to produce intense competition. To no surprise, the sophomore swimmers are ready and excited to show off everything they have to offer alongside they amazing class moderator, Mrs. Rodriguez, also known as D.Rod.

“I am so excited for OLLAFEST! Last year my freshman class killed it, and this year, the sophomores are ready to win. I even have a ‘swimmer’ surprise costume in store that is sure to wow everyone.” sophomore Lucia Jurado said. “My friends and I are so excited to be able to fully experience what OLLAFEST has to offer with no restrictions which is something we didn’t have before.”

Along with school spirit, the class of 2025 is also putting spirit into their classes. With college slightly creeping up on them, the PSAT and PACT are also something the sophomores will start to be focusing on, as well as facing the challenges that come with Chemistry and Algebra 2.

“This year, I am taking harder classes, so it’s definitely going to be more of a challenge to keep up. For the PACT and PSAT, I am kind of nervous, but I feel as though I can prepare myself more so I can score successfully,” sophomore Ina Esquijarosa said.

Overall, the OLLA community couldn’t be more excited about the class of 2025 and all the astonishing things they have to show off. With talented athletes, singers, and artists, the sophomores are swimming to a successful year.
