What Is Fantasy Football?

Welcome to Emma Explains it all. Where I, Emma, explain it all. This week’s topic is fantasy football.
What is Fantasy Football? It’s a game in which participants act as owners, general managers, and coaches of professional American football teams. A virtual team is drafted and made up of real NFL players. Based on their field performances on a given week, points are scored. Benched players do not receive points. Players must play a game for points to be made.
People come together on the NFL draft day, and pick their players based on performance, teamwork, and ability. The teams are put together and even Sunday players meet to watch the game and gather points. The points in Fantasy Football are pretty similar to regular points in a football game. One point for ten receiving yards, six points for a receiving or rushing touchdown, four points for a passing touchdown, and finally negative two points for every interception thrown or fumble lost.
Fantasy football encourages leadership, critical thinking, decision making, and comaraderie. Some studies even show that it can improve your mental health by making you use deductive reasoning and problem solving.
Many members of our very own community take part in this game in their free time. Like Mrs. Maria Munarriz and Mrs. Cristina Noriega. They both love to play, and have for years.
Mrs. Munarriz has been playing this game on and off for ten years. She loves the game and being able to play with her family.
“I love football, and I love competition, and since I can’t play football, I play fantasy football.” Mrs. Munarriz said.
This feeling is also similar for Mrs. Noriega, “I love to play fantasy football because I get to compete with my family and get to spend every Sunday watching football with them.” she said.
After my extensive, and deep research I’ve come to the conclusion that fantasy football might just be something everyone can enjoy. So give it a try.
