Student-Led Stress Reliever
As the 2022-2023 school year comes to an end, three of our Seniors, Diana Cowely, Mia Sanchez, and Lauren Gonzalez decided to create a student-led organization promoting sisterhood and the end to senior stress, they called it Serenity 4 Seniors.
They plan to end senior stress one activity at a time, the girls recently hosted their first event on March 2nd, Senior Stretch.
Gonzalez said the turnout of thr event was successful, many seniors showed up to stretch.
Their mission to increase good mental health at Lourdes is working!
The seniors explained the idea took lots of planning. They gave a brief backstory:
“We were put in leadership class and were told to come up with a service organization, Mrs Minoso told us to do something small and local, so we came up with doing fun activities to increase motivation to continue to do well in school and relieve the senior stress like college decisions, tests and APs” said Sanchez.
After much deciding the final decision was made:
“We came up with the name Serenity 4 Seniors. Serenity is peace and the 4 resembles the 4 years at OLLA as seniors. Our color is purple because our class color is purple” said Cowley.
Our three seniors are excited for what the last months have to bring. They hope to relieve stress one activity at a time!
