Faith thrives in community. That is the very premise behind a new Catholic Bible study group: United in His Love. Founded by four seniors: Cristina Bordas, Janelle Gonzalez, Paola Olaechea, and Valentina Santin, the ministry was created as an inspired space to share, connect, and grow, bringing together students of all grade levels who are interested in either closely connecting to their faith or deepening their OLLA sisterhood.
And it doesn’t stop there. The ministry welcomes all high school students across Miami, public or private, who want to connect with like-minded students who are fully committed to their faith formation. The ministry offers spaces and places to read and interpret scriptures, share personal stories and experiences, and unite in a collective love for Christ.
“Our foundation is based on our desire to share His Word and embrace the Good News of Christ. Through Bible studies, meaningful discussions, and hands-on activities, members will grow in their understanding of the Gospel and learn how to apply it in their daily lives by fostering a love for scripture and a strong community of faith,” Santin said.
Understanding that we are all here for a reason and that we have the power to impact others for the better, the ministry will empower members to go beyond the halls of OLLA or their respective schools and carry their faith out into the community. The club will host events at local churches and settings that invite members to find sacred refuge and renewal. This mission is the force that will drive every idea and event that the club plans to host monthly, creating lifelong learners who serve the community.
“We plan to do various community engagement activities: sunset gatherings, Sunday Mass, share meals, and coffee shop meetups. We have meetings planned for every month and are so excited to officially get started on September 20 for our first official meeting,” Gonzalez said.
Empowering through purpose and prayer, the founders will organize a wide variety of events and activities that will offer something for everyone, including a peace-filled outlet after a long day or week. The intention focuses on recentering and leaning into God’s loving grace for us.

“We hope that our Bible studies will make members feel a sense of belonging. We want everyone to feel safe and secure coming just as they are, because Jesus’ love is something to be enjoyed as a community,” Bordas said.
They urge everyone to come as they are, ready to grow in faith no matter where they are in their prayer life. This is meant to help each and every person bloom and be the disciples God calls us to be.
“No matter where someone is in their walk of faith, Jesus is there to guide us through every step,” senior Paola Olaechea said.
