Fall 2025 is finally here! And with it comes a wave of trends that feel equal parts throwback and new. It’s the season of suede, statement boots, and fur-trimmed coats, a mix that turns the crisp autumn air into a runway of its own.
This year’s fashion mood is unapologetically tactile. Suede is everywhere again, from structured jackets to knee-high boots that look taken straight out of a ‘70s Vogue archive. The return of texture signals something bigger: a move away from minimalism and back toward detail, warmth, and a little bit of drama.
Polka dots have also resurfaced with a sharper edge. Designers such as Miu Miu are pairing them with structured skirts, loafers, and oversized knits, proving that patterns can be both playful and polished. The look feels both vintage and current, a mix of Audrey Hepburn charm and modern trends.
And speaking of returns, the “original Hollister” aesthetic has quietly crept back into closets and stores. Think low-rise denim, zip-up hoodies, that California 2000’s vibe that once defined mall culture. Only now, it’s styled with a wink layered with Aritzia basics, platform boots, and confidence instead of tanning beds.
“Polka dots and boots make me feel like I’m in Clueless or The OC,” said senior Ale Diaz. “It’s fun to see trends come back in a way that actually fits our style now.”
Outerwear is getting a major upgrade, too. Faux fur-hood coats are the statement piece of the season. Cropped, belted, or dramatically oversized, they’re replacing puffers as the new chill weather essential. Paired with tall boots and a cashmere scarf, they make every walk feel like a scene from a mid-2000s movie.
“I really like that this fall is all about mixing comfort with personality,” said senior Karina Ortega. “You can wear a hoodie with tall boots and still be fashionable. It’s less about trends and more about making old ones feel new.”
What ties all these trends together is that sense of revival. Fall 2025 fashion doesn’t reinvent fashion as a whole, it reimagines it. It takes the things once worn on school hallways or Tumblr dashboards and gives them new life, better materials, and modern confidence.
Because in fashion, what’s old never really goes away. It just waits for the next generation to make it their own.
