OLLA’s Beauty Secrets
Skincare and makeup is a universal language for most of our student body. We’re fairly fluent in the realm of fashion trends and individual style. Plus, what better accessory to match our outfits than bright skin and dewy makeup. The three words, Vogue Beauty Secrets, tend to spark in a conversation within the makeup category. The YouTube series features a variety of celebrities following their luxurious skincare and makeup routines while introducing viewers to specific techniques and products.
Senior Victoria Lebeña is caught up with the weekly videos. Her routine has evolved after purchasing cosmetics and following techniques taught by her favorite models, actresses, and singers.
“I’ve watched every single one, but my favorites have to be Iris Law, Taylor Hill, and Kelsey Meritt’s routines,” Lebeña said.
Their youthful style and eye looks primarily stood out to her. She discovered dupes for the high end products featured in the videos: the Tom Ford Ultra Shine Lip Gloss and an Urban Decay mascara. The three celebrities taught Lebeña the ropes for doing her makeup.
For senior Nicole Llopis, the YouTube series specifically revealed a new line of skincare products, exclusively designed by Pharrell Williams. His products, including a rice powder cleanser, are inspired by the Japanese culture and packaged according to theme. The sleek green containers, textured with Braille, cater to the entirety of the human race as the collection is fittingly named.
“I love the packaging because my favorite color is green,” said Llopis, “Also I love his skincare routine because his skin is so clear and healthy at 47.”
Pharrell Williams’ skin care line sold out in minutes. As one of Vogue Beauty Secrets’ recent features, he shows the effectiveness of a simple skincare routine.
2020 gave students time to grow their skin and beauty routines. Immediately after watching Vogue’s Beauty Secrets, you’ll find yourself searching for the best products; it’s impossible not to.
The New Year is the best time to add these acclaimed products to your beauty routine. From serums to moisturizers to gloss, these videos have something for every makeup guru.
