Andrea Valdes-Sueiras was a staff writer for The Grotto junior year. For the 2020-2021 school year she is the newspaper’s Managing Editor. She feels most creative when she’s writing stories for her travel blog, making her own açaí bowls, and listening to her Spotify playlists. She loves a handful of chocolate-covered almonds and lemon La Croix while she’s getting work done. An afternoon at the beach and good company is the best thing she could ask for. Besides being a few of her favorite things, these people, places, and even snacks motivate her to work harder and smarter. Before writing, she makes mental notes of vivid words and phrases that she can use in her stories to avoid writer's block later. In a perfect world, she sees herself drafting and editing for world-renowned magazine groups like Town and Country, Condé Nast, and Vogue. And overall, she’s excited to see what the future holds for her in the realm of journalism.
