Best of Year student Work Showcased in Literati 2023

Literati 2023 is the 34th volume of the school literary and arts magazine, the Literati, has been published.

The magazine is a showcase of the best art and literary works created by students for the year. Seniors Danielle Noriega and Paola Lista spearheaded this year’s magazine with the help of the Grotto News Staff and is always enabled by the English & the Fine Art departments’ student submissions.

The theme, Kintsugi, was chosen to reflect how difficulties can lead to beautiful growth. Kintsugi is the is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold — a metaphor for embracing life’s  flaws and imperfections.

The Literati magazine is an award-wining publication that was recently honored for the 2021-2022 issue with a Silver Crown distinction from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, a Highest Award from the National Council of English Educators, a Gold Medalist Award from the Florida Scholastic Press Association and a Pacemaker Finalist from the National Scholastic Press Association.
