Installing new leaders
On Wednesday, September 16th, the school gathered around their screens to celebrate the induction of this year’s student leaders. Ms. Martinez and Ms. Rowgowski organized a Zoom call with Club and Honor Society Presidents and Team Representatives that aired on the rest of the student body’s devices. The mass and the proceeding ceremony could not have run smoother under the current circumstances. By pairing the installation of these individuals with a mass, it’s clear that these presidents and representatives are rooted in their faith and committed to their role as student leaders.
Vivi Quevedo, the 2020-2021 Executive Board President led the leaders in their official oath. As the epitome of school leaders, Quevedo is already planning for the future, developing “outside the box” ideas for the year to reach its fullest potential.
“I want to be the voice of my classmates, especially in the planning process of activities with administration,” Quevedo said, “I know many traditional events will be different this year, but now’s when I can get creative and come up with new and exciting ways for everyone to be involved in school activities.”
After several years on council, Quevedo is used to coming up with unconventional approaches on a whim: this is nothing but a small bump on the road.
The Club and Honor Society Presidents and Team Representatives are braced for the challenges that they’ll meet in the coming school year. They have a powerful community ready to support them and their future endeavors.
