Music to My Ears

Concerts are back after a long COVID hiatus.

Since the birth of the vaccine, life has been returning to normal, including nightlife.

Restaurants, theaters, sporting events, and most excitingly concerts. Recently, there has been an abundance of concerts coming to the Miami area including Harry Styles, Maluma, Zac Brown Band, and some bobcats are very excited about it.

Attending a concert is a very unique experience because you are surrounded by hundreds of people who share a similar interest as you in the artist that is performing. In the beginning of October, there was a very busy weekend for the Miami Music Scene as Harry Styles, mas Maluma came to perform in the 305 and lots of students were spotted at the concerts.

“It was one of the best experiences of my life,” said junior Annette Menedez, who attended the Harry Styles concert, “The adrenaline you feel at concerts is something that you cannot experience anywhere else.”

Menendez described her night so passionately that it is disappointing that everyone missed out on experiences like this one for so long.

Similarly, junior Diana Rincon attended the Harry Styles concert and had an even more emotional experience. “I cried all night because I was so happy to be there,” Rincon said.

Her favorite part of the night was “definitely getting ready. Picking out an amazing outfit and listening to Harry Styles songs the entire drive up with my friends. But a close second would have to be the atmosphere of it all, everyone singing together, there’s nothing else in the world like it,” Rincon said.

The following day regaetón singer Maluma performed to a full crowd, with junior Carolina Crippa in the pit.

“I hadn’t danced that much for such a long time, it was so much fun and I went with my best friend which made the experience so much more fun,” Crippa said.

After the concert, Crippa even got to meet Maluma which she described as “the biggest thrill of my life.”

Overall, concert performances returning is a very exciting experience for anyone attending because no other event can replace the pure adrenaline that concerts supply. Let’s see what excitement upcoming performers such as Luke Combs, Playboi Carti, El Alfa, and others bring to Miami.
