The Lourdes Dancers put on their annual end-of-season performance on Tuesday, March 12 in the gym. The show was named “Resilience,” as a testament to the relentless dedication the team showed throughout the season, in the face of injuries and unexpected changes. The show was also meant to recognize the six seniors on the team: Gabriella Garcia, Vivianna Delgado, Gabriela Gomez, Alexandra Linaje, Mariana Nares, and Alexa Orozco.

“The point of the show was to showcase everything we did this season,” senior Gabriella Garcia said. “It was honestly one of the best seasons yet and this was definitely the perfect way to celebrate that.”

Various local dance studios were also able to participate and brought some younger groups to showcase their talents. Maria Verdeja School of Dance, Dance Empire of Miami, Somerset Bay Mermaids, and Legacy Productions brought dances and performed them throughout the show.

“I enjoyed watching the other studios dance because they were really talented and it was a good way to bring the whole show together,” senior spectator Christina Herran said.

The Lourdes Dancers shared the stage one last time this season, bringing their lyrical and hip-hop competition pieces to the show. Each grade level also choreographed their own dances. The dance that the juniors made was a tribute to the seniors, as a token of their gratitude for everything they have given to the team over the last four years. Additionally, each senior performed a solo.

“On top of being able to perform my solo one last time as a Lourdes Dancer, I was given the amazing opportunity to do a duet with my little sister, who is a freshman,” Garcia said. “I’m so proud of her and the whole team, and I’m really excited to see all they can do in the coming seasons.”

With 21 overall dances, the production was a great way to close their impressive season and send off the seniors.
